Kids Storage Bins

Kids Room Cleanup Tactic #73

Help Your Children Maintain a Clean Room by Making it Difficult for Them to Make a Mess

You can help your child to have a neater room by making it hard for them to have a messy room. There are some things that you might need to do in order to actively help your child maintain a neat room.

The first thing you will want to do is to have plenty of places for your children to put their things. Do not expect your child to neatly stack toys, electronics and other items. It might be difficult for your child to keep things nicely displayed especially if they are young. You should have some nice and colorful bins and/or baskets in your child’s room where they can store toys and things.

It is better for items to be placed in attractive storage containers than to be strewn across the floor. Give your child plenty of spaces to put away their clothes. If they do not have enough storage room in their bedroom, you might want to store some of their clothes in another closet for them. Give them less clothes to manage at one time so that it is easier for them to keep neat.

Give your children a small assortment of toys to play with at one time. They will be tempted to get too many toys out with at one time if they have easy access to all of their toys. You might need to keep some toys packed away and rotate toys every few weeks to help your child stay neat. It is also your job to go through and their toys every so often to get rid of those that they never play with or those that are getting to worn. If it is left up to your child, they would probably keep every single toy.

Do not put more furniture in your child’s room than they are able to manage. If you find that many pieces of furniture in their room serve as an area where they throw clothes, toys and trash, it might be time to scale down. Your child might not even realize that they are not making good use of all their furniture.

Do what you can to make it easier for your child to keep a clean room. If you do your part, it will be easier for your kids to do theirs.
